FOUNDATION SUPPORTED PROGRAMS

The Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union Foundation works with local schools and community organizations is an effort to promote education and financial literacy.

Funding initiatives with the aid of FMFCU also promote education through scholarships awarded to graduating high school seniors who plan on furthering their education.

Some of the programs that Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union Foundation supports:
  • In-School Financial Literacy Programs
    • Elementary School Programs include a variety of engaging lessons, activities, and resources to help student understand and become familiar with the basics of financial literacy and independence.  We also offer a variety classroom and seminar type workshops that promote financial literacy with lessons emphasizing earning and saving money.  The Foundation also sponsors field trips to local FMFCU branches and a Start Smart Savers Club, FMFCU’s free savings account promotion for children.
    • Middle School Programs include a personal finance program fully funded by FMFCU that uses a combination of classroom lessons, workbooks with teacher’s guides, and parental involvement to encourage middle school students to save their money and use it wisely.
    • High School Programs consists of a variety of lessons and seminars ranging from budgeting to credit cards and student loans.  We also aid in Co-op and Job Shadowing programs for high school students with the Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union.
  • Educational Field Trips
    • Trips include visits to a local FMFCU branch to see first hand how a credit union operates.
  • Delco Hi-Q Support
    • Delco Hi-Q is the oldest continuous academic quiz competition in the United States. Twenty-one Delaware County high schools participate in Delco Hi-Q.  Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union joined Delco Hi-Q as a primary corporate sponsor in 2004 and has made a long-term commitment to strengthen and sponsor the program.
  • Partners in Learning Celebration
    • The Partners In Learning Celebration is the premiere education recognition for Delaware County students and teachers. Each year more than 40 teachers and over 200 students are recognized for their achievements during the course of the year.  For more information please see the Partners In Learning Celebration page.
